William J. Krause, CPA (Shareholder/President)
Upon graduation from Waynesburg College in PA (with a major in accounting & minor in economics) Mr. Krause was first employed by the accounting firm of Arthur Andersen & Co in Pittsburgh prior to his service in the U.S. Army. He then served in the U.S. Army at XVIII Airborne Headquarters at Fort Bragg, NC before completing his military obligation at the U.S. Army Europe Headquarters in Heidelberg Germany. While stationed in Germany, he served as Senior Auditor of the Internal Review & Management Division of USMEDCOMEUR. After his U.S. Army service, he obtained his MBA from Boston University and was then subsequently employed with large national public accounting firms. Mr Krause conducted audits on major publicly traded corporations before he commenced working for Stone & Webster Engineering Corporation in Boston for 16 years. He then started William J. Krause, CPA in 1992, which continues today at its current location in Wolfeboro, NH.
Matthew W. Krause, EA (Shareholder/Treasurer)
Matthew W. Krause earned his BA from St. Lawrence University in 2005 and then went on to receive his MBA from Plymouth State University in 2008. As a federally licensed IRS Enrolled Agent, Matt is admitted to practice before the Internal Revenue Service, and is a member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents.
Matt has been with the firm since 2005. His primary focus has been new business development and organization modernization. Matt provides tax and consulting services to private corporations, partnerships, non-profit organizations, trusts, associations and individuals.
Matt is actively involved in his community. Matt is currently a Trustee for the Taylor Community.
Matt resides in Wolfeboro with his wife Megan, son Ted and daughter Ellie. He is an avid golfer and skier.
Christopher Tierney, CPA
Christopher Tierney received his BA and MBA degrees from Cornell University. He subsequently earned his CPA License in 1984 and his CGMA designation in 2012. He joined the team at William J. Krause CPA, P.C. in the summer of 2017. Christopher has held high level positions in area firms and formerly taught accounting courses at New England College (now Southern New Hampshire University).
Christopher has prepared a number of business valuations, testified as an expert witness in New Hampshire Superior Courts, and participated in numerous negotiations relating to the buying and selling of businesses He is a specialist at designing and implementing complex transactions to accomplish client objectives. He has extensive experience in individual, partnership, trust and corporate taxation and has successfully represented clients before the IRS.
Over the years he served on a number of non-profit boards including Independent Labor Systems and Lakes Region Daycare. He was the Treasurer of the Lakes Region Scholarship Foundation and of the Laconia Airport Authority. He has acted as an advisor to other boards including the Gilford District PTA and the White Mountain Center for Creative Development.
He is married with four grown children. He enjoys sailing, kayaking and paddleboarding in the summer. In the winter he teaches skiing at Gunstock and is recognized as the second longest tenured member of the Snowsports School. He also held a private pilot license with a multi-engine rating.
Peter M. Colbath, CPA
Peter Colbath earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from University of New Hampshire and a Masters of Science in Accounting from Southern New Hampshire University. Peter earned his CPA Licensee in 1997.
Peter retired from the New Hampshire Department of Revenue Administration (NHDRA) as the Assistant Director of the Taxpayer Services Division after eighteen and a half years of service. He was responsible for monitoring and managing the Department’s Modernized e-File (MeF) system as well as overseeing the design and modification of tax forms to maintain compliance with both federal and state law. Peter also made recommendations for updating of existing administrative rules and represented the department’s public outreach programs. Prior to joining the NHDRA, Peter worked for a local CPA firm specializing in business tax and various attestation services.
Peter has served on a number of non-profit boards including Laconia Rotary and Lakes Region Sled Dog Club, Inc. In addition, Peter coached the Gilford High School Alpine Ski Team for six years, earning several state titles.
Peter resides in Wolfeboro. He enjoys running his sled dogs, skiing, and boating. He has been a member of the Professional Ski Instructors of America since 1982 and is Stage III Certified.
Leonard E. Sauvigne, CPA
Len received his Bachelor of Science in Finance from Providence College and Master of Science in Accounting / Master of Business Administration from Northeastern University. Upon graduation Len earned his CPA license. He spent 11 years at PWC working out of their Boston office, where he held the position of Senior Audit Manager. After leaving PWC, Len went on to work for two years at Marcum in the position of Commercial Audit Manager. Len will be the point of contact at our firm for all assurance related services and will provide accounting and advisory services to our diverse client base.
Len and his wife Keri have three children Samantha, Elizabeth and Allison. In his free time Len enjoys spending time with his family, golfing and fishing.
Annie Scionti Brett, CPA
Annie obtained her Bachelor’s at Bentley University in May of 2015 where she double majored in Accountancy and Ethics and Social Responsibility. Originally from CT, she moved to NH in 2019 and earned her CPA License. She has worked in public accounting since graduating and has experience in high-net-worth individuals, small partnership and S corporation tax returns as well as large corporate multi-state and consolidated tax filings.
Annie resides in Wolfeboro with her husband, two young daughters, three cats and occasionally some chickens. In her free time, she likes weightlifting, hiking, traveling and photographing the beautiful state of NH.
Elizabeth Conner, CPA
Elizabeth graduated from the University of Vermont with a degree in Finance and continued her education at Bentley University where she received her Associates in Accounting. After graduation she went on to obtain her CPA license.
Elizabeth has been working in Public Accounting for many years, which included running her own tax practice where she specialized in tax and accounting for small businesses and individuals. At our firm, she will continue to offer her expertise in these areas to our current clients.
Elizabeth relocated to Wakefield, NH and fell in love with the area. When not in the office, she enjoys tennis, hiking with her dogs, playing in the lake and being outdoors.
Lisa Beauregard, CPA
Lisa is a Certified Public Accountant and graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Boston College. Prior to joining our firm, Lisa spent 17 years PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) of which she spent 7 years as a Partner. Her focus with our firm will be supporting our clients with US GAAP/technical accounting issues, system implementations, project management and coordination/oversight on Tax and M&A services.
Lisa resides in Meredith, NH. When she is not in the office she enjoys spending time with her daughter, playing hockey, boating and skiing.
Ivette Ruiz Babylon, CPA
Ivette holds a Bachelor of Science from The University of Florida and a Master of Professional Accounting degree from The University of Texas at Austin.
Ivette began her career in banking, where she completed an intensive management training program in all aspects of retail and commercial banking. After completing her Master’s degree, Ivette joined Coopers & Lybrand, LLC. She later joined the mergers and acquisitions team of MasTec, Inc., a publicly-traded Telecommunications Infrastructure Provider. While at MasTec, Ivette transitioned from M&A to head the Finance Team for one of the company’s largest divisions, and, ultimately, to serve as the company’s Corporate Controller. Ivette later founded Babylon Consulting, LLC where she was responsible for client services.
Ivette joined the firm in 2018 where she is responsible for client services, primarily business valuation and corporate tax advisory services.
Ivette also serves on the Board of Directors and volunteers for several local organizations including, GALA/Global Awareness, Local Action (Treasurer), the Wolfeboro Area Recreation Association (volunteer co-chair, dog park committee) and The Kingswood Theater Boosters (Treasurer). When not working, Ivette can be found in her garden, sailing with her husband, Mike, horseback riding, cycling or with her dogs.
S. Marie Krause, CPA
Marie was born and raised in Pennsylvania, graduating from Mount Holyoke College with a BA in Mathematics, minor in Religion. After a time raising her 2, now adult, children, she completed her MSBA in Accounting and became a CPA. She worked in regional and local accounting firms for 30 years doing audit, bookkeeping and tax planning and preparation work.
Marie enjoys spending time with her two granddaughters and her miniature schnauzer, Minnie.
Christina Duntley
Tina graduated from Bentley University with a bachelor’s degree in finance. She began her career as a junior accountant at Havenwood Heritage Heights in Concord and then switched gears to the banking industry as a mortgage loan officer at Profile Bank in Rochester. While raising her 2 sons, Nick and Josh, Tina worked in the Wolfeboro elementary schools. She has also held many volunteer positions within the Wolfeboro Community, including the Wolfeboro Preschool and numerous youth and high school sport organizations.
Tina lives in Brookfield with her husband Ryan, their two sons, and 2 rescue Labrador Retrievers. She enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, mountain biking, and camping.
Gregory A. Roark, Jr
Gregory A. Roark, Jr earned his BA from Guilford College in Greensboro, North Carolina in 1994. Gregg began his financial career with Manulife Financial (John Hancock) in Boston, Massachusetts. In 2001, he moved back home to Wolfeboro to become a successful entrepreneur with his father and brother-in-law in the restaurant business. Together, they currently operate Garwoods Restaurant and Wolfeboro Dockside Grille & Dairy Bar.
In 2015, Gregg went to work as a staff accountant at Weidema, Lavin & Grott Accounting CPA, P.C. in Hampton and Portsmouth, New Hampshire before joining the team at William J. Krause CPA, P.C. in January 2018.
Gregg has two children, Max and Brityn. He currently resides in Wolfeboro where he enjoys running, golfing, skiing and spending time with friends and family.
Haley Mathis
Haley Mathis began working in business administration with a focus on bookkeeping in 1999. She has extensive experience with a number of accounting platforms, but primarily with QuickBooks. She has worked for non-profit organizations and small businesses including farms and restaurants as well as a newspaper and a property management company.
Although she spent most of her life in Vermont, Haley is happy to call Brookfield her home since early 2021. When she is not working, Haley enjoys cooking with her partner and being in the woods.
Hannah Reed
Hannah earned her Associate’s Degree in Accounting from Southern New Hampshire University in 2021, where she graduated with a 4.0 GPA. Hannah has worked as tax preparer and bookkeeper for several years and will be the point of contact on bookkeeping accounts and tax preparation services for various clients of our firm.
Hannah is married with two children and currently resides in New Durham. While not in the office Hannah enjoys spending her free time knitting, baking, making art with her children and endless hikes in the White Mountains.
Brooke Savage
We welcomed Brooke Savage to Krause & Associates in 2022. Prior to becoming a member of our team, Brooke worked in a variety of industries, all with a specific focus on office management and customer service. While living in the Washington D.C. area, Brooke managed front and back office operations at companies such as SiteWorx and Akima, LLC. A resident of Wolfeboro for the last decade, Brooke enjoys baking, gardening, and traveling to Virginia to visit her niece.
